Winfred "Wink" Garthel Frasier age 92, of Chickamauga, Georgia moved to his Heavenly home Wednesday morning – May 29, 2013. He was born in Dawson, Alabama to the late William Bartlett & Emma Elizabeth Fricks Frasier. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a medic where he earned three Battle Stars. He also received the East American European Theater Service Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. After returning from the war he worked for the Goodyear plant in Cedartown, Georgia for several years. He moved to Rossville, Georgia in 1953 where he worked and retired from Mueller Foundry as a carpenter in Chattanooga, TN. He was a former member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 3115. He became an Emergency Medical Technician in the State of Georgia in 1979 and worked with Wilson Ambulance service for many years. He also worked at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes for the past thirty seven years. He was a current member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He was a former member of the following Baptist Churches Robertsville, Shiloh and Bethlehem. He had served as Missions Board Director, Sunday School Teacher, deacon and lay preacher. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and raising animals such as; rabbits, doves, chickens and beagle dogs. He is preceded in death by his wife: Ruthie Pearl Fulghum Frasier, two sisters: Irene Frasier and Mavis Blankenship. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Glenda & Leroy Wilson of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, Faye & Barry Sammet of Athens, AL, Joyce McNish of Rossville, GA, brother and sister-in-law: Billie George & Sonya Frasier of Cedartown, GA, grandchildren: Dewayne & Sheri Wilson of Rossville, GA, Tracy & Mike Anderson of Chattanooga, TN, David & Monica Joy Wilson of Chickamauga, GA, Heather and Kindra McNish of Rossville, GA, Jason Sammet, Paige & Matt White, all of Athens, AL, great grandchildren: Cailey, Hallie and Kheley Wilson, Leslie and Clay Anderson, Spencer, Shelby, Speshal Joy and Splendor Pearl Wilson, Levi McNish, Dalton & Lauren Sammet, Byron & Charleigh White all of Athens, AL, several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, all day Friday and Saturday morning until the service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm – Saturday – June 1, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Reverends: Jon Underwood and Billy Frasier officiating. Entombment will follow in Calvary Gardens & Mausoleum – Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
