Mr. Frank Swinney, Jr., age 75, of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 following an extended illness. Mr. Swinney was born on June 23, 1934 in Polk County to his parents, the late Frank Swinney, Sr. & Gladys Willis Swinney. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Swinney Weaver and his wife, Annie Belle Hackney Swinney. Mr. Swinney was retired from the Rome Plow Company, serving in management there for over 40 years. He was a veteran, serving with the United States Army, stateside, during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He was also a member of the Georgia National Guard. He was a member of the Cave Spring Baptist Church but had attended Pine Bower Baptist Church & Friendship Baptist Church for most of his life.
He is survived by his loving & devoted daughter & son in law, Joanna & Richard Machan, his sister & brother in law, Sandra & Joseph LiVolsi, his granddaughters, who he dearly cherished, Anna & Amanda Machan, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Frank Swinney, Jr. will be conducted on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Brown officiating and Mr. Dan Casey delivering the Eulogy. Interment will follow in the Pine Bower Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday night, March 25, 2010 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Litesey Funeral Home.
